A highlight reel of the GCAP Seoul Seminar, co-hosted by Zeitgeist Capital and Korea-US Alliance Foundation (KUSAF), bringing together a distinguished group of policymakers, business leaders, and scholars on August 28, 2025. We welcomed over 40 Korean public and private sector leaders, including former Korean foreign and defense ministers and senior military, policy, and finance leaders. The discussion, led by GCAP’s Matteo Maggiori, Antonio Coppola, and Christopher Clayton, centered on the emerging practice of geoeconomics—how major powers like China and the U.S. employ economic strength to achieve strategic objectives—and the tradeoffs other countries face in balancing economic security with the benefits of open trade, with a particular focus on the case of Korea.
